Churches see car break-ins during Sunday services

Posted: November 12, 2013 - 6:26pm

Recently area churches saw vehicle break-ins during the Sunday church service. Crow Wing County Sheriff Todd Dahl said by phone that it’s been a few weeks since the last break-in, but he reminded the public not to leave valuables in plain view in their vehicles.

He said to put purses, cell phones and other valuables in the trunk of a car or under the seat, or simply don’t leave them in the car.

If the thieves can see a valuable, he said, they can smash into a car, grab the valuable and be gone in seconds.

No one has been picked up on suspicion of the break-ins, Dahl said, and anyone with information should contact the sheriff’s department at 218-829-4749.
