A total of 28 people volunteered to donate blood, and 20 were able to give during Pine River’s Oct. 21 blood drive. Nine people gave blood on the automated 2RBC machine, which collects two units of red blood cells during the donation, so a total of 29 products were collected.
Katie Bartelson, donor recruitment representative from United Blood Services, said, “It is not only those who sponsor the blood drive, but the people of Pine River donating that makes the difference to patients in the hospital. You never know when a loved one or even you will need blood. We want to thank all the people who volunteered on Oct. 21.”
Naida Kargel coordinated the drive.
