Crosslake was bustling Saturday, Sept. 28, for Crosslake Days despite the rainy weather that dominated most of the morning and part of the afternoon.

Zorbaz took first place in judges’ choice in this year’s chili cookoff among 22 participating area businesses. In second was RiverWood Bank and in third was The Wharf.

RiverWood Bank took first place in people’s choice, followed by Itasca Leathergoods in second and Andy’s in third.

The car show had only 14 entrants due to rain, but still had plenty of spectators. Bob Gottwaldt took the Mayor’s Choice Award with his 1939 Ford Sedan. Entrant’s choice went to Brian Evenson with his 1957 Chevy 210 and the People’s and Entrant’s Choice Motorcycle award went to Joel Miller with his 2001 Harley Road King Classic.

Other festivities included a craft show in the former Exchange parking lot, a flea market at the former Catholic church parking lot and numerous other area activities.
