The Manhattan Beach City Council on Aug. 6 discussed planning and zoning issues and a process for how they should be handled, according to draft meeting minutes.
Mayor Paul Allen said during the meeting that planning and zoning violations or complaints would be handled by the planning and zoning administrator, according to the ordinances, then meet the planning commission, then meet the council, if needed, according to meeting minutes.
Draft minutes also say the council commented on a house built without a permit. Hoop buildings were discussed and the signs in front of Manhattan Beach Lodge were also discussed.
Allen said he hoped that in the future such issues could meet the planning and zoning commission before coming to the council.
In other business Aug. 6, the council:
• Heard that “No ATVs” signs were replaced along County Road 66 and “No Parking” signs were placed near the Trout Lake access.
• Heard that Ralph Iverson planned to donate and put up a new American flag, and the old one would be brought to the American Legion for proper disposal.
• Decided to discuss the city budget at the Sept. 3 council meeting.
