More than 200 items went up for auction Saturday, Aug. 10, at the 27th annual Camp Knutson Quilt Auction. The auction brought in a total of $57,472. Camp director Rob Larson said he believes it’s the most money the event has ever raised.

In all, 96 items were auctioned in the silent auction and 135 items were auctioned live. Items included wall hangings, baby quilts, bed quilts, table runners and more.

Larson said some of the money raised will be used to reconstruct the camp’s bell tower. He said the tower was originally constructed in the 1960s, and the bell is used as a wake-up bell, dinner bell and to alert the camp of an emergency.

The remainder of the money will go to fund campers’ stays at the camp.

The auction is coordinated by the Paul Bunyan Auxiliary of Lutheran Social Services.
