Nelson to present program at Fifty Lakes Foundation meeting Aug. 16

Darby Nelson, author of the book “For the Love of Lakes,” will present a program at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, at the Fifty Lakes Foundation clubhouse. There is a potluck dinner at 6 p.m. Guests are welcome.

Nelson is a professor emeritus at Anoka-Ramsey Community College and an aquatic biologist, served three terms in the Minnesota Legislature and is the former board president of Conservation Minnesota.

His presentation will focus on the intricacies of the ecosystems of our lakes, ponds and waters, and how to protect and preserve them for future generations.

The Fifty Lakes Foundation clubhouse is at 40554 South Eagle Lake Road (northeast corner of Crow Wing County Roads 1 and 3 intersection in Fifty Lakes).
