The sixth annual race to celebrate the life of Dru Sjodin — The Purple Elephant Run/Walk — and the sixth annual Chokecherry Festival will be Saturday, Aug. 10, at Trailside Park in Pequot Lakes.

The run/walk to create awareness of violence against women and children while promoting health will start at 8 a.m.

A kid’s arcade area on the north side of Trailside Park will feature a variety of reasonably priced kid’s games, including Plinko, bean bag toss, tugboats, fish pond and more with prizes for the kids to win.

The day will include an arts festival and food vendors, including the Pequot Lakes/Breezy Point Lions Club’s almost famous Shish-ka-Bobbers.

The Back Seat Driver game and pit-spitting contest return. And Chokecherry T-shirts will be sold.
