“A Blooming Success,” 75 years of Garden Show history, is the theme for the 75th annual Garden Show sponsored by the Nisswa Garden Club from 2-7 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, at Lutheran Church of the Cross in Nisswa.
Club members and non-members will display “fruits of their labor” in Artistic, Horticulture, Potted Plants, Fruits, Vegetables and Herb Sections, as well as a Small Fry, Junior and Teen Invitational Section.
Gary Carson, a member of Central Lakes College’s natural resources faculty, will present a seminar, “Favorite Trees to Know and Grow,” at 3 p.m. He will lead a panel of Master Gardeners discussing native tree species plus other hardy trees for home yards in this area.
Crow Wing County Master Gardeners will also be available to answer other gardening questions.
In addition to the exhibits, there will be a bake sale, silent auction and plant sale. Enjoy coffee, punch, homemade cookies and bars among the flowers in the refreshment area during the show.
This year’s show is dedicated to Sue Jordan, who passed away in March. Sue will be remembered as the person who chaired the plant sales, both the club’s spring sale at Schaefer’s Foods and the sale held during the garden show. She served on various committees during the past years and was the secretary of both the club, as well as having served as secretary of the Sixth District.
Admission is free and everyone is welcome to attend.
