The first Pine River duck races, originally scheduled for June 21, were postponed until June 28 due to high water levels at the Pine River Dam.

Water levels were still high on June 28, but not high enough to postpone the races for another week. Heather Hackler from Mt. Vernon Washington was named dutchess of Duck after four heats and a winner’s race.

Duck races will be held every Friday at the Pine River Dam until Aug. 16 starting with registration at 1:45 p.m.
