The Crow Wing County Attorney’s Office has released the names of the two victims of the June 3 shooting on County Road 36 in Crosslake. Robbie Bjerkness, 31, of Crosslake, was identified as the victim who was shot. Kelly Keith, of Coon Rapids, was the 911 caller.
Larry Joe Bolton is charged with four felonies in the case: three counts involving Bjerkness and one involving Keith.
Reports show that Bjerkness and Bolton shared an address on County Road 36 in Crosslake. The news release from the county attorney’s office did not include the relationship of the two men.
Bolton’s charges involving Bjerkness include second-degree attempted murder, with intent, not premeditated; first-degree assault with great bodily harm; and second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, substantial bodily harm.
Bolton’s charge involving Keith is second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon.
Bjerkness was airlifted June 3 to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale after police responded to a report of a shooting at around 6 p.m. on County Road 36 in Crosslake. The criminal complaint against Bolton states there was a high probability Bjerkness would lose his leg as a result of the shooting.
Bolton’s initial appearance was scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 19.
