PRB High School gets Health4Life mini grant

Posted: June 4, 2013 - 5:04pm

This spring Pine River-Backus High School was awarded a Health4Life school mini grant to help increase physical activity opportunities for students.

Equipment such as footballs, basketballs and frisbees were purchased and used daily during the lunch break.

“I haven’t seen this much movement at high school recess in a long time. We are thankful for this grant,” said Principal Trent Langemo.

“It’s great to see how successful adding this equipment has been,” said Mr. Mongan, dean of students. “Junior and senior high students who used to sit on the curb are now using the equipment and are very active.”

This project was funded by Health4Life, a collaboration of the Cass, Morrison, Todd and Wadena county public health agencies with funding from the Statewide Health Improvement Program.

Health4Life works with schools, colleges, health clinics, hospitals, businesses and several community based groups.
