The second annual Evan Lindquist 5K Memorial Run/Walk raised $4,779, with $1,422 raised Saturday, May 18, alone, bringing the total amount raised to date to $20,823.

This amount was raised with the help of approximately 350 participants and large anonymous donations.

The money raised by this annual event will be given to the graduating class of 2022, in honor of their classmate, Evan Lindquist, who died tragically in a bus accident.

Following 2022, the scholarship will be used to reward one boy and one girl graduate each year. Money raised through these events could someday be invested to increase the amount available to graduates.

There were also “virtual participants” from Champaign, Ill.; Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Key West, Fla. One donation came from Denmark.
