The next planning and team captain meeting for the 10th anniversary of the Pine River-Backus Area Relay For Life will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, at The Warehouse in Pine River.
The Relay For Life is a way to support the mission of assisting those you love in the battle against cancer. The luminary bags can be purchased from team members and decorated by the donor with pictures, drawings or words about their loved one. The luminary bags are lit at dusk at a ceremony with each bag representing a loved one and family and friend network behind that person.
It is the 10th year since the relay returned to the Pine River-Backus area, and the 100th year anniversary of the American Cancer Society, so there will be many reasons to celebrate.
Contact Tina Grewe at 568-6084 with any questions about the Relay For Life, which will be Friday, June 21, at the Pine River-Backus High School track with the opening ceremony honoring area survivors at 7 p.m.
