Local martial arts students compete at Tournament of Champions

Over 45 students from Ultimate Martial Arts in Crosslake and Baxter recently competed at the Tournament of Champions, All American Karate Cup Tournament at the Minneapolis Convention Center on Saturday, April 27th.

The school sent two teams to compete in the Mega Team Form, which consists of teams of 10 or more people, all doing the same form at the same time. Some forms were set to music and some were not. The students also competed individually in forms, self defense, weapons, sparring and Jiu-Jitsu.

The students that competed individually, collectively brought home 13 first place trophys, four second place trophys, four third place trophys, two fourth place trophys and one fifth place trophy. The Jiu-Jitsu team brought home 1 Silver Medal and 2 Bronze Medals.
