The Pequot Lakes School Board approved a school calendar Monday night, Feb. 25, that includes a spring break from March 24-28, 2014.
Because of school construction, there was no spring break week the past two years.
School will begin Sept. 3, the day after Labor Day, and the calendar also includes eight school days off for winter break, from Dec. 23 to Jan. 1. The last day of school will be May 29, 2014, and graduation will be May 30, 2014, which is after Memorial Day weekend.
Staff voted on two options for school calendars, one without a spring break and one with a break, and presented the board with a recommendation to approve the calendar with a spring break.
Of 149 staff members who voted, 90 voted in favor of the calendar with a spring break.
The school board approved the calendar unanimously.
