The Pequot Lakes School District plans to have a new superintendent hired by mid-April.
The job posting for the position was finalized and approved Monday night, Feb. 4, at a special school board meeting. The board will advertise from Feb. 5 to March 5.
The qualifications the board is seeking were listed, and include a minimum of two years of superintendent experience; proven, sound fiscal and administrative management; demonstrable initiatives on improving student achievement; and a thorough knowledge of negotiations and collective bargaining process, with negotiation experience preferred.
The board plans to form an interviewing committee that will include the board’s own personnel committee and a selected group of community members that is yet to be determined. All board members are invited to the interviews, so a full board could be present.
Preliminary interviews will take place in March; the first round is planned for March 14, and other interviews will be scheduled for later in the month. All committee meetings are open to the public.
Interviews of three finalists will be held April 8 at a public meeting of the board beginning at 5:30 p.m.
