February is National Children’s Dental Health Month, according to the American Dental Association. Central Lakes College hosted Give Kids a Smile Day on Friday, Feb. 1, on the Brainerd campus, where Kim Shaw, a Dental Assisting student from Pequot Lakes, cleaned a youngster’s teeth. Dental exams were provided free to ages 4 to 16 in the CLC Community Dental Clinic, which had 64 scheduled appointments. The annual event, which includes supervision by volunteer dentists, is sponsored by the Minnesota Dental Association.
