Pequot Lakes School District plans to have a new superintendent hired by mid-April.
The personnel committee of the school board met Monday night, Jan. 29, to discuss the position and develop a timeline for hiring a new superintendent.
Rick Linnell, current superintendent, submitted his resignation last November; his last day will be June 30.
The committee made tentative plans to hold a public interview with finalists at a special school board meeting on April 8. The position will be advertised from Feb. 5 to March 5, and the committee planned for preliminary interviews in March.
Though details of the job posting are not finalized, the committee discussed many qualifications it will seek in a candidate, including at least two years experience as a superintendent and a history of sound fiscal management.
The committee also discussed, but has not decided, what group of people will be involved in the interviewing process. Committee chair Kim Bolz-Andolshek said that in the past a group of community members has been involved.
The board will hold a special meeting Monday, Feb. 4 at 6 p.m. to approve the job advertisement.
