Area high school seniors are eligible to apply for $2,000 scholarships that will be awarded by the Minnesota Telecom Alliance Foundation (MTA). TDS Telecommunications Corp. (TDS) is once again participating in the MTA scholarship program.
Annually, five $2,000 scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors. To be eligible, applicants must be accepted at a post-secondary university, college or technical college and be a Minnesota resident.
In addition, the applicant’s family must subscribe to at least one TDS service.
Applications are available at http://www.mnta.org/associations/11041/files/MTAFoundation-ScholarshipApp-2013.pdf.
In late March, the MTA Foundation will review all applications and select the finalists based on grades, academic achievements and extracurricular activities. Preference is given to students with an interest in telecommunications technology and rural communities.
Scholarships will be presented during the recipient’s high school graduation or awards night programs.
Applications must be submitted to Jean Pauk, TDS Telecom, 525 Junction Road, Madison, WI 53717 by March 1.
