PIne River Police Chief warns speeders

Posted: January 22, 2013 - 6:41pm

Due to an increase in speed violations within the school zones on Pine River’s Murray Ave and 3rd Street, Police Chief Paul Sand has announced that, beginning February the Pine River Police Department will begin to strictly enforce the speed limit there.

Murray Ave and 3rd Street are designated school zones during the hours from 7:30-8:30 a.m. and 2:30-3:30 p.m. During that time the speed limit on these roads is restricted to 15 miles per hour.

Chief Sand said that many people have been issued warnings on these streets recently, but in February the warnings will cease and officers will begin to crack down on speeders in the area.
