Kenneth Gardiner of Brainerd spent Thursday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.V. Gardiner.

Mr. and Mrs. N.H. Olson of Laporte, the later a sister of Supt. Haack, attended the basketball game in Pine River Friday evening.

(photo) Ed Bye of Pine River speared this northern, which measured 41 inches in length, 22 in girth and weighed in at 24 pounds, 10 ounces, while fishing Whitefish Lake last Tuesday morning. He has had several other large fish also. Whitefish Lake has been producing some lunkers for everyone.

Plans for the proposed Paul Bunyan Trail are moving ahead right on schedule almost like the trains that used to travel along the abandoned railroad line. “I’ve worked on a number of tourism projects and none of them have come together like this one,” says Terry McGaughey, spokesperson for the Paul Bunyan Trail Task Force.

On Feb. 1, 1988, Bradley D. Swanson will join Don D. Lundrigan and Ted N. Lundrigan in forming a new partnership under the name of Lundrigan and Swanson. The partnership will continue a 52-year law practice begun by Don D. Lundrigan here in Pine River in 1936.
