The seventh annual Back to Basics Sustainability Fair is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at Pine River-Backus School.
This year’s keynote speaker is Chuck Marohn with his workshop, Strategies for Building Strong Towns: How Ordinary People can do Extraordinary Things. Marohn’s workshop is meant to empower individuals and communities to improve their own situations instead of seeking outside assistance.
In addition to Marohn’s workshop there will be 28 other workshops. There will be vendors selling locally produced products.
This event is sponsored by Happy Dancing Turtle, Pine River-Backus Community Education and Central Lakes College. Cost of workshops range from $5-$25 depending upon age and number of workshops attended. Full-day registration fees include lunch.
