January is the official National Blood Donor Month, and at the recent Emily area blood drive a steady flow of donors gave 96 pints of blood.

This was the 60th Emily area blood drive in the past 25 years. The total overall number of pints collected at the Emily site has reached 5,553 pints.

One-gallon pins were received by Tim Boyd, Deb Marty, Donald McCormick, Josh Rooker, Lisa Schweitzer and Brenda Wood.

Brian Foster, Will Jones, Darlene Peterson and Heidi Roettger earned their two-gallon pins, while a three-gallon pin was awarded to Shirley Gronholm, Don Hodgman and Bonnie Johnson.

Four-gallon pins went to Joe Datzman and Susan Pusc. Douglas Greseth and Pat Schloesser were presented five-gallon pins for their donation of 40 pints of blood.

Frances Camacho and Grace Werner were awarded six-gallon pins for the 48 pints that they each have donated over the past years.

Door prize gift certificates, donated by Robin Fish, massage therapist, went to Dennis Lamke, Kaye Camacho, Marg Moritz, Nichole Kesller, Stephanie Bright and Deb Marty.

The Emily area bloodmobiles are sponsored by the Lakers Lions of Emily, Outing and Fifty Lakes. The next bloodmobile in Emily will be from noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, at the new Emily City Hall, formerly the Emily Charter School.

To sign up for a pre-appointment for this blood drive, or to volunteer to help with the next bloodmobile, call coordinator Nancy Moritz at 218-763-3097.
