Celebration of Epiphany
John Wallin and his brother, Joe, built this Tipi Bonfire for the Celebration of Epiphany at Lutheran Church of the Cross in Nisswa on Sunday, Jan. 6. For centuries, families, villages and cities have celebrated Epiphany around bonfires. Since the fourth century this festival has commemorated the visit of the Wise Men to the Baby Jesus. Epiphany formally ends the Christmas season yet also promises Christ’s Christmas light to be with the world forever.
