The Jenkins tree lighting went off without a hitch, despite a new location for the annual event.

Sponsored by First National Bank of Walker, hot dogs, cider, hot cocoa and pumpkin bars were served and eaten around a bonfire behind Jenkins City Hall.

Mayor Jon Lubke led a small crowd in Christmas carols, and a team of horses drew carriage rides through town.
