Due to complications with light hanging, the Jenkins Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place at Jenkins City Hall, instead of at its normal location off Highway 371.
The ceremony’s date and time will remain the same, from 5-6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30. City hall is located at 33861 Cottage Ave.
The ceremony will feature its usual hayrides, hot dogs, bonfire and hot cocoa.
Jenkins City Council approved the annual tree lighting ceremony at its regular city council meeting Tuesday, Nov. 13.
In other business Nov. 13, the council:
• Approved a contract with the Pequot Lakes Police Department. The contract has no changes from last year.
• Approved the canvass of the elections.
• Approved purchase of a snow bucket for the public works department for $1,600.
