The Pine River-Backus School Board adopted the maximum levy allowable Monday night, Sept. 16 at its regular monthly meeting.
That maximum amount is estimated at $1,050,110.74, though the number has not yet been finalized. This represents a 2.78 percent drop from the 2012 maximum allowable levy of $1,080,148.17.
For 2012, the school board adopted a final levy of $946,147.97. The 2013 final levy adoption and Truth in Taxation hearing will take place at the Dec. 18 regular board meeting.
In other business Monday, the board:
• Approved the Systems Accountability Report, the annual report on curriculum, instruction and system performance for the 2011-12 year. The report covers student performance goals, progress made on those goals and state-wide test results.
• Announced the next regular board meeting on Oct. 15 at 7 p.m.
