Hoisin-Glazed Baby Back Ribs
1 cup hoisin sauce
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
2 tablespoons fresh grated ginger
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 tablespoon sesame oil
2 teaspoons curry powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
4 to 6 pounds of baby back ribs
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Make the glaze: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the hoisin sauce, honey, vinegar, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, curry powder, salt and pepper. Stir well and bring to a simmer. Cook over low heat for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat.
Season the ribs with salt and pepper. Grill indirectly over medium heat, turning halfway (after about 30 minute) through cooking time. When the ribs have cooked for an hour, start basting them every 15 minutes with the hoisin glaze until the meat is very tender and has shrunk from the bones. This will take an additional 15 to 30 minutes. A few minutes before the ribs are finished, sprinkle the ribs with sesame seeds.
Remove from grill and serve immediately.
