First Lutheran Church women in Pine River will show “A Walk to Beautiful” at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, in the church fellowship hall.

Dessert will follow the program.

Kinship Partners honors Keith and Debbie Sunnarborg and Selena and Kyle Johnson as its Match of the Month.

One could say the Sunnarborgs are “seeing double” these days. Debbie and Keith, of Brainerd, are Kinship Partners mentors with brother and sister, Selena and Kyle, also of Brainerd.

Living in the country, Debbie has taught Selena to horseback ride and collect eggs in the chicken coop. Keith and Kyle also enjoy the outside fun Minnesota has to offer: fishing, hunting, building bird houses, flying kites and gathering sap for maple syrup.

Cub Scout Pack 101 has been organized at Crosslake, under sponsorship of the Crosslake Chamber of Commerce. A total of 29 Cubs and 12 Scouts from the Crosslake, Nisswa and Pequot Lakes area have already joined.

Girl Scouts donate cookies to food shelf

Pequot Lakes Junior Girl Scout Troop 322 ended the Girl Scout Cookie sales period with nine boxes left over. Instead of buying those boxes themselves, the Girl Scouts decided to donate them to the food shelf. The troop includes, back row, Hannah Brown, Hailey Carlson, Madison Fulton, Ashley Huseby and Sydney Dorion; front row, Rachel Kottschade, Ella Nies and Brooklyn Dean.
