The Backus Lions will hold their annual Get a Bargain Yard and Bake Sale from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 25 at the Backus Corner Store parking lot located at Hwy 371 and 4th St NW. Many slightly used treasures will be on sale plus tasty homemade baked goods.

Proceeds from this sale benefit the philanthropic activity of the Backus Lions Club including high school scholarships, food shelves, Christmas For Kids, Relay for Life, service dog organizations, local schools and nursing homes.

The 12th annual Northern Lights Rug Hooking School will be held July 23-26 at Crosslake Lutheran Church. 

Mary Johnson from Designs in Wool, Sally Kallin from Pine Island Primitives, and Cathy Tokheim from Old Friends Woolens will teach rug hooking technique and color planning.

Crosslake Christian Assembly of God Church will host Central Minnesota Teen Challenge at 10:45 a.m. Sunday, May 12.

The choir will present a service of music and testimony of God’s power.

Adult and Teen Challenge is a Christian program that helps heal broken lives, delivers people from addictive lifestyles and restores families.

A special offering for the ministry of Teen Challenge will be received at the end of the service.

Mother’s Day will also be celebrated, including a gift for each woman attending.
