Christmas for Kids: Thank you again to the community for ongoing donations to the Christmas for Kids program. We could not have made this year brighter for so many kids without the help of our volunteers and community partners. Together, we continue to make a difference.
Pine River Area Food Shelf is open Tuesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the second Tuesday of the month from 3:30-7 p.m.. The food shelf is located in the basement of First Lutheran Church in Pine River.
Free tax help: Free tax help will be offered again from February to mid-April. Check in with the family center in the middle of January to find out when the appointment schedule will become available.
Hidden Jewels Thrift Store is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday–Thursday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays. Hidden Jewels needs volunteers who would like to spend a few hours a week helping in the store. Call Brenda for more information at 587-4292.
Home Visiting Program: Is this your first pregnancy? Do you have questions about how your pregnancy will go? Do you wish you had a little extra help with your questions around your pregnancy and about upcoming parenting issues you will encounter? If yes, the family center’s Home Visiting Program has immediate openings for first-time expectant mothers who would like additional support with their pregnancy and parenting their child to age 3. Free prenatal gift bags are available to all women who are expecting a baby who live in the Pine River-Backus School District.
