Mr. Dene Taylor, mortician at the Northland Funeral Home in Pine River, was appointed Cass County coroner at a recent meeting of the county board of commissioners.

In Pine River on Saturday, Oct. 12, is Carnival Day. More than 300 prizes will be given.
