75 years ago, May 19, 1938

From the Pine River Journal

Pequot will soon be able to boast the addition of a newspaper. The village has been without a paper for several years and the business men felt the loss greatly.

The Joe Chumley home, 5 miles north of Pine River, was completely razed by fire early Tuesday morning. Cause of the fire has not been determined.

50 years ago, May 17, 1963

The Pine River Fire Department was called out last Tuesday of last week to the Don Wallace farm 2 1/2 miles east of Pine River on Highway 84, by a fire in the barn.

The Pine River Tigers came a step nearer the Conference baseball title with a 10 to 0 victory over Motley here this week.

The City of Pine River is considering a curfew for the City. The subject was brought before the Council at the regular meeting held last Wednesday, May 11, 1988 at the Pine River City Hall.

Party held to honor Dr. Pelzl. A GAME OF WHEEL of Fortune caused a hillarious reaction - “Vanna” was portrayed by Dr. Laposky.
