Faith in Action for Cass County is offering a New Volunteer Orientation Training from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, May 9, at The Warehouse in Pine River.
Potential volunteers will learn about program policies and procedures, dealing with diversity and emergencies and the fun of making new friends in their community.
Volunteers are able to choose how and when they want to volunteer. Faith in Action volunteers must complete an application process including orientation training and background checks.
A locally supported, non-profit charitable organization, Faith in Action for Cass County provides nonmedical, neighborly assistance to seniors, the disabled and people in need throughout Cass County.
Faith in Action volunteers provide transportation, friendly visiting, respite for caregivers, light homemaking and chores, and basic home repair, and they build accessibility ramps.
Volunteers receive scheduling coordination, training, liability insurance, recognition, mileage reimbursement and the smiles and joy of helping others. Local volunteers provide 60 percent of all programming for seniors, youth, emergency services, and community events in rural Minnesota. Volunteers with Faith in Action are matched with requests that fit their gifts.
Be a sustainable part of your community by becoming a “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” volunteer with Faith in Action.
