The Crosslake Evangelical Free Church, also known as The Log Church, announced its groundbreaking ceremony, which will conclude the worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday, April 28, for a 16,000 square-foot addition to its existing building located at 37218 County Road 66 in Crosslake.
All are welcome to attend this event.
“We are simply out of space,” said Senior Pastor Fred Cressman. “Our activities — especially with the children and youth — have us bursting at the seams. While it’s a good kind of problem to have, our space needs center around additional safe children’s space, classrooms, improved handicap accessibility and fellowship areas.”
The building effort will include a weather-tight, expanded facility with immediate finished space for a new entryway, elevator and sanctuary entrance.
Additional finishing work within the new structure will be completed over time as the additional funds become available.
“We are stepping out in faith to build this addition,” Cressman said, “and it’s important to note that this isn’t about building a building, but rather, it’s about building a tool to help us reach out to others and continually grow His Kingdom.”
The building financing campaign theme is “Making Room ... Growing God’s Kingdom.”

Crosslake Evangelical Free Church started as a summer church that met in the Fish and Game building in Crosslake from 1968-81. In 1983, the church was organized and established, and the original building was built on a 3-acre lot that was gifted to the church.
In 1995, the first addition was built to accommodate a growing congregation.
