Women have played an important part in the construction and maintenance of Pequot Lakes over the years. Mothers and grandmothers worked alongside their spouses to establish homes and community, and subsequent generations have benefited from their effort.
March is Women’s History Month and the nation has an opportunity to recognize the contributions that women have made over the years to their families and their communities.
For the month of March, the Pequot Lakes Area Historical Society will have a display in the Pequot Lakes Library honoring some (but by no means, all) of the local women who have worked to make our own town a good place to live.
