Nisswa hosted a full day of events July 3 to celebrate Independence Day.

A record-breaking crowed participated in Turtle Races, and visitors embarked on stage coach rides and cooled off by playing Water Wars.

Live music played at Nisswa Square and the Pickle Factory, where a street dance capped off the day’s festivities.

A Kiddie Parade was held before the annual Freedom Days Parade on Main Street. Following are event winners.

Freedom Days Parade

Pequot Lakes High School Marching Band, first; Glynlyon’s Rocking Band, second; Breezy Point Figure Skating Club, third.

Chalk drawing contest

Kari and Cora Carlson, first; Luella Goll, second; and Caitlyn Urspringer, third.
