The Pequot Lakes Community Theater production of “Oliver!” opens on Friday, Nov. 15, with a performance at 7:30 p.m. on the stage of the Pequot Lakes High School Theater. The opening night performance of “Oliver!” will also feature an intermission celebration with punch and cookies to recognize the 30th anniversary of the Greater Lakes Area Performing Arts (GLAPA) / Pequot Lakes Community Theater organization. Lakeland Agency is sponsoring the 30th anniversary celebration.

“Oliver!” is one of the world’s most beloved musicals. Based on the Charles Dickens novel “Oliver Twist,” the musical seeks to engage the audience with its pathos and drama and delight with musical numbers. Musical theater classics that will be performed include “Food, Glorious Food,” “I’d Do Anything,” “Where is Love?,” “Consider Yourself,” “As Long As He Needs Me,” “Who Will Buy?” and “Reviewing the Situation.”

The show is suitable for the entire family.

Tickets may be reserved by calling the Pequot Lakes Community Education office at 218-568-9200. Tickets will be sold at the door starting one hour before show time for each of the performances. Group ticket sales are offered for groups of 15 or more. Ticket prices are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors (age 60 and older) and $8 for youth (age 18 and under). Performances are scheduled for Nov.15-17 and 22-24. The Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday performances are at 2 p.m.

The GLAPA mission is to provide high quality, affordable performing arts to the community. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Five Wings Arts Council, thanks to the legislative appropriations from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
