Two couples residing on Man Lake east of Hackensack will open their gardens to the public for a free art and craft fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 13.
To reach the fair from Hackensack, take Cass County Road 5 east from Highway 371 8.2 miles. From Longville, take County Road 5 9.3 miles to 14th Avenue, then follow the signs to 4405 Buxton Road N.W. and 1306 44th St. N.W.
At the Dietrich home, Linnea and Gary Dietrich will offer personal pan pizza and organic bread from their new wood-fired oven.
Jo Guttormson will demonstrate basket-making. She is well-known for her classes, teaching techniques and innovative basket art.
Stephanie Roy, who makes hand-crafted jewelry, Bells and Baubles, will offer her creations for sale. She shows her jewelry in her Minneapolis gallery as well as in this area.
Carol Wedin will present photo cards and prints as well as framed prints for sale. She has an unusual book of barn photos for viewing.
While viewing the art, enjoy listening to Greg and Kiki Webb, a cosmic-acoustic duo who form Dancing Light. They perform throughout Minnesota and Florida and will have CDs available.
At the Ted and Mary Pouloit home, Ted will show and sell more than 100 Up North theme paintings on wood and canvas.
Hackensack artist Myra Damm, who sells her paintings at Walker Artists Mall and in the Arts Off 84 tour by Longville, will have a variety of paintings available. She formerly had a studio in Spring Lake Park where she held classes.
Judy Visker, a former Hackensack artist who now is a popular gallery artist in Arizona, will offer selected unique paintings.
Clay artist Joni Kumpula will offer her decorative and utilitarian stoneware, most of which has a nature theme.
Marcia Featherstone will provide music on her magic violin.
