The Northwoods Arts Council (NAC), an all-volunteer organization dedicated to providing entertainment and visual enrichment to the lakes area, is sponsoring a summer sculpture park in downtown Hackensack along the Paul Bunyan Trail.

Sculptors throughout Minnesota were invited to submit proposals to the NAC and five pieces of artwork were chosen for display from June 1 through Labor Day. The artists are Andy Arend from Rochester, Al Belleveau from Bemidji, Tim Cassidy from New York Mills, and Chris Gustafson from Watkins.

All have had sculptures displayed in other venues and bring a wealth of talent to the lakes communities.

Residents and visitors may view the artwork and vote for their favorite sculpture.

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Five Wings Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
