Claudia Schmidt with Dean Magraw will be the opening show of the 30th anniversary performance season for the Greater Lakes Area Performing Arts (GLAPA).
The concert will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, on the stage of the Pequot Lakes High School theater.
Schmidt’s concerts are interwoven with anecdotes revealing a relationship with the audience. The concert is an endless display of self-realization through humor and music.
Composer/guitarist Magraw has performed with numerous regional ensembles and projects as diverse as Japanese shamisen with Nitta Masahiro, classical violinist Nigel Kennedy, jazz bassist Anthony Cox and radio personality Garrison Keillor.
Tickets are available through the Pequot Lakes Community Education office, call 218-568-9200. Tickets can be purchased at the door starting one hour before the concert, too.
Ticket prices are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors (age 60 and over) and $8 for youth.

In addition to Schmidt with Magraw, performances include “Oliver!” a musical production; Mary Mack, comedian; Divas Through the Decades, vocalists; “The Spitfire Grill,” a musical production; and Michael Johnson, ballads/guitarist.
