Lt. Judson Coleman will present “The United States Coast Guard and Lake Superior, Greatest of the Great Lakes” from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, at the Crosslake Community Center as the Crosslake Chautauqua Program.
The program will be devoted to the operations of the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) on Lake Superior. Coleman is chief of waterways management from the Marine Safety Unit in Duluth.
Included in Coleman’s presentation will be a discussion of the USCG’s organizational structure, its marine safety mission on Lake Superior, navigation, ice-breaking and the impact of last year’s flood.
The program is free to the public.
