The Miss Pequot Lakes Scholarship Pageant will be at 7 p.m. Friday, April 5, in the Pequot Lakes High School auditorium.
The pageant is open to all junior and senior girls in the Pequot Lakes School District, including homeschooled students.
The pageant includes evening gown, talent, interview, onstage question and congeniality competitions. Miss Pequot Lakes, first runner-up and Miss Congeniality will be crowned and will attend community events and business celebrations throughout the year.
A primary goal of the pageant is to award a college scholarship to the young woman selected as Miss Pequot Lakes and, if funds allow, to other participants. Scholarships are advanced to recipients upon successful completion of their first term of college.

Seems odd that Pequot would be holding this pageant one day before the long-scheduled Miss Pine River Pageant. Does anyone ever check an area event schedule? Not that it will affect either, but would seem that some spacing might be adventageous to both committees in regard to attracting an audience.
