Northwoods Art and Book Festival
The Northwoods Art and Book Festival will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, in Hackensack and will include more than 50 artists exhibiting their works that cover a broad spectrum of the arts. All artists will be located in the Hackensack Community Building or along Lake Avenue.
More than 35 authors will sell and sign books in the United Congregational Church and Hackensack Community Building. There will be various author and poet presentations, an art project and many other activities.
The Crosslake Area Historical Society will host Heritage Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at the Historic Log Village. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors, $3 for children ages 5-12 and free for ages 4 and under.
Artisans will demonstrate and sell their wares throughout the village. There will be music, food and beverages, and children's activities.
Band in the Park
Daybreak will perform hits from the '40s through today's top classics from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, in Trailside Park in Pequot Lakes in the free Band in the Park series. The group includes guitarist Dick Wilt, a member of the Minnesota Rock & Roll & Country Hall of Fame; Leisha Kaye, Jim Hanson, Pat Scrimshaw and Joe Yager.
