Crow Wing County approves change for Peaceful Harbor

Once a small resort with a few cabins, Peaceful Harbor Shores is going through another transformation.

Tuesday, Feb. 12, the Crow Wing County Board approved Peaceful Harbor resortominium plans for the Rush Lake property in Ideal Township near Pequot Lakes. Peaceful Harbor is off Milinda Shores Road.

The most recent change to the land use map has the 3.9-acre Peaceful Harbor moving from waterfront commercial to shoreland district.

In 2010, the county approved rezoning Peaceful Harbor land from shoreland residential to waterfront commercial.

Special legislation sought to sell waterfront land tracts

Crow Wing County is seeking special legislation to sell tax-forfeited land next to protected water.

There were three land tracts in question Tuesday, Feb. 12. The tracts are on the Mississippi River in Brainerd, on Pelican Lake in Breezy Point and on Adney Lake in Perry Lake Township.

Special legislation is required to sell tax-forfeited parcels with more than 150 feet of water frontage. Kirk Titus, land services supervisor, reported the three tracts were isolated and do not fit the county’s long-term land management plan.
